U21: Sharks’ six tries overrun Free State

THE Sharks U21 took over top spot on the national log with a crushing 43-6 defeat over Free State U21 side at King’s Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks ran in six tries, leading 15-6 at the break before running away with the game in the second half.

Tries went to wing Jaco van Tonder, Nico van der Westhuizen, Peter du Toit, Andrew Norton, Lubabalo Mtembu and Nick Schonert. Talented fullback Gouws Prinsloo kicked a penalty and five conversions.

In the early curtain-raiser at King’s Park, the Sharks U19 suffered a disappointing 23-10 defeat to Free State.
