2011-07-27 00:00

Bon Voyage … the directorate of International Education and Partnerships at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) bid farewell to outgoing U.S. Consul-General Jill Derderian. The directorate welcomes back nine students and is sending eight others from various disciplines to the U.S. on a year’s exchange under the community college initiative programme. The students were selected through a competitive exchange programme. DUT has the highest number of students chosen for the programme. Sharing in the celebrations at the Ritson hotel at DUT last night were (back, from left) Dr Lavern Samuels, who is the director of International Education and Partnerships and special assistant to the vice-chancellor, students Vinolin Naidoo and Edwin Caine, chair of the council Professor Jairam Reddy and student Jason Govender, and (front, from left) Jill Derderian, students Zama Mofokeng and Thandi Khoza and DUT Chancellor Ela Gandhi.
