AMERICAN saxophonist Mike Rossi will perform at the Centre for Jazz & Popular Music at the University of Kwazulu-Natal in Durban at 5.30 pm on September 1.
Rossi is Professor in Jazz and Woodwinds at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town and regularly performs at jazz festivals and conducts workshops and master classes in Africa, Europe and the United States.
Over the years he has performed with Tony Bennett, Lou Rawls, Rob McConnell, George Russell, Micu Narunsky, Aretha Franklin, Rosemary Clooney, The Boston Big Band, The Artie Shaw Orchestra, The African Jazz Pioneers, Alec Dankworth, Winston Mankunku, Barney Rachabane, Johnny Fourie and Carlo Mombelli.
The concert will also feature Mageshen Naidoo (guitars), Neil Gonsalves (piano), Philani Ngidi (bass) and Bruce Baker (drums).
