FRESH from winning seven Naledi Awards for Evita, the creative team of Paul Warwick-Griffin (director), Charl-Johan Lingenfelder (musical supervisor) and Louis Zurnamer (musical director), is ready to set the stage alight with Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

This Pieter Toerien Production, starring Cito, Nadine, Jonathan Roxmouth, Anton Luitingh and Terence Bridgett, will be staged at the Teatro at Montecasino from June 3 to June 26.

Jesus Christ Superstar features the popular Lloyd Webber songs Superstar and I Don’t Know How To Love Him, as well as the highly entertaining King Herod’s Song (originally performed by Manfred Mann’s Michael d’Abo). Afrikaans-music fans will be thrilled to see Nadine play the role of Mary, while soap fans can look forward to seeing Bridgett in full flight as King Herod. Wonderboom frontman Cito plays Jesus of Nazareth, while Grease and A Handful of Keys star Roxmouth takes on the role of Judas and Luitingh (Beauty and the Beast, Joseph, Evita) shows his class as Pilate. — Arts Editor.
