Unknown: Man found dead in Narandas road

POLICE are appealing to the public for information on the identity of a murdered man found dead inside a house along Narandas Road in Northdale in Pietermaritzburg on Friday.

The man, estimated to be in his 30s, was discovered on Friday morning. He had sustained a stab wound to his chest.

Police said at about 1 am the owner of the house heard noises coming from his property.

When he looked out the window, he saw two unknown men in his premises.

He shouted at the men who subsequently fled. When he woke up at about 6 am, he discovered the body of the unknown man lying in his garden and immediately contacted the police.

The black man is described as approximately 1,8 metres in height, of slender build, light in complexion with short black hair and has a short beard and moustache. He was clad in a blue and yellow jacket with the writing “uMzinyathi” on it, a grey jersey, a blue T-shirt, blue tracksuit pants and a pair of white Nike takkies.

Police spokesperson Warrant Offier Joey Jeevan said anyone with information regarding the identity of the deceased or other relevant information is requested to contact the investigating officer, Constable Skhumbuzo Ngcobo, from the Mountain Rise detectives services on 033 387 9526 or on his cell on 072 470 3938.
