2011-08-12 00:00

SPRINGBOKS and dozens of provincial players, along with proud members of the Thirsty Thirds and Fiery Fourths, will be among the 650 past and present students who will be making their way to the Peter Booysen Park on the local campus this evening for the Varsity Rugby centenary celebrations.

The banquet has drawn a remarkable response from around the world with some 40 past Varsity players travelling from overseas for the event.

Three former Bok captains, Tom Bedford, Wynand Claassen and Gary Teichmann, will be among the guests.

Guests are invited to arrive at 5 pm when Maritzburg Varsity play local rivals Maritzburg Collegians for the York and Lancaster Cup. The dinner starts at 7 pm.
