2012-11-07 00:00

PLESSISLAER police are appealing to anyone who can identify the body of a man who was reportedly the victim of a vigilante attack.

The victim was found in the Dambuza area on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said the victim was about 25 years old and wearing navy blue All Star takkies, a black jacket, a grey polo neck jersey, grey trousers and a brown belt.

It is thought that he was assaulted by a group of men who accused him of breaking into a house in the area.

He sustained multiple injuries to the head and body.

Jeevan said no arrests had been made and police were investigating the circumstances.

Anyone with information is asked to call the investigating officer, Captain Morris Dladla, of Plessislaer Saps Detective Services at 033 3989 775 or 082 4172 753.

Individuals who wish to give information anonymously can call Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
