Violent: SA ‘bokkie’ out on bail after fight with Hollywood hubby

2011-07-08 00:00

“I’m just out of prison. I’m not okay. What a mess!”

This is the message that Nikki Williams (22), a South-African-born woman, who in April married Hollywood-actor Nicolas Cage’s son, Weston Cage (20), posted on her Facebook-profile yesterday.

Her father, Attie Williams, lives in Bloemfontein.

The newly-wed couple were arrested on Monday on a charge of domestic violence after she reportedly cut his arm with a bottle. She also threatened to jump from their flat’s balcony, reported, a website devoted to gossip about the famous.

Cage was released on bail but, because of her South African nationality, bail for Williams could not be approved so soon, her mother, Mandy Morgan, posted on Facebook.

“I spoke to her and my heart goes out to my child. Pray for her and please don’t believe everything you read and see about her. She is a wonderful woman with a heart of gold who will rise over everything. She is well loved.”

Williams was released on bail yesterday (American time). Cage was booked into a hospital for psychiatric observation after an incident in a restaurant in Hollywood. He apparently acted “hysterically and violently” towards a fitness instructor, Kevin Villegas, who told Cage he could not order a dish off the menu. He was presumably under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Nikki said last month in an interview with Volksblad it was love at first sight for her and Weston. “A person knows it is love when you spend every second with someone and it is still not enough.

“I am now his springbokkie. I love it when he calls me his springbokkie.”

Rumours that she is pregnant and that the couple are on the brink of divorce could not be confirmed.

Volksblad could not get comment from her family at the time of going to press.
