2013-01-29 00:00

CAPE TOWN — Zwelinzima Vavi, secretary-general of the Congress of South African Trade Unions, yesterday became the proud father of twins.

Vavi announced the news on his Twitter feed and said his wife gave birth to a twin boy and girl at 8.30 am yesterday.

It was an overflow of “Bafana Bafana luck”, Vavi tweeted, adding that he was very happy.

Mom and babies are doing very well, it was reported.

The couple received congratulations from all corners of SA’s poltical spectrum, including DA leader Helen Zille, who congratulated the Vavi couple with “Viva to the Vavis.”
