Vodacom Durban July: Party weekend with Club 808 hosts

2011-06-30 00:00

DURBANITES are not going to recognise their city — that’s the view of Mo Flava, Club 808 host and radio DJ, who’s heading to the city with his co-host on the e.tv show, Dineo Ranaka, and DJ Tira, for two Durban July parties this weekend.

The weekend will kick-off with a hot Durban July preparty tonight, hosted by DJ Tira at his club Afro Lounge tonight, ahead of the Durban July after-party at Moses Mabhida stadium. Artists include Liquideep, Teargas, Dj Cleo, Zakes Bantwini and Fisherman.

“Judging by the line-up, it’s going to be a crazy weekend,” Flava said. “It’s the first time I’ve been to the Moses Mabhida Stadium, and I’m really looking forward to it. The stadium is beautiful, and the party is going to be amazing.”

Club 808 is considered to be one of the most cutting-edge shows dedicated to the South

African music scene. “As a fresh, dynamic reputable brand it’s important for us to associate ourselves with brands of the same nature, and DJ Tira is one perfect, dynamic South African brand, with a consistent track record of being a musical trend setter,” Ranaka said. “Throw in the Durban July, a royal theme, a party marathon, celebrities and a few of our valuable viewers, and you have a brilliant recipe for one of the biggest party weekends on the event calendar, so make some noise.”

All the action and the behind-the-scenes happenings will be revealed on Club 808 on July 8 at 7.30 pm.
