A PORT Shepstone detective is hoping that Fanile Gumede will assist him in solving a murder and kidnapping case.

Detective Warrant Officer Jabulani Mdluli wants to interview Gumede as he may be able to assist in this case.

It is alleged that on December 18 last year, Sibusiso Robert Lubanyana (28) of Mkholomba informal settlement was involved in a quarrel with a man over his girlfriend. Lubanyana was stabbed and killed and the suspect then kidnapped the girlfriend, but she managed to escape the following day.

Gumede is asked to contact Warrant Officer Mdluli, or if anyone knows of Gumede’s whereabouts, they should call Mdluli at 039 688 1090 or 083 5161 369.

Gumede is also known as Muzwa, Faithful Ndlovu, Gcaleka or Nkarabetsi. — WR.
