Waratahs meet Kokstad at Woodburn

2008-05-22 00:00

KZN club rugby takes place on two days this weekend.

Tonight sees the PMB Waratahs entertain Kokstad in an 8.30 pm kick-off at Woodburn Stadium, while Durban University host Maritzburg Collegians at 8 pm. This First Division South fare should provide typically hard-fought rugby between sides who play with pride in their club jersey.

The Waratahs have had a tough season, but there is no lack of spirit in the club. Kokstad, too, have seen better days.

Tomorrow features a fuller programme that includes Premier Division, U20A Division, and First Division North and South action.

In the second of the televised Premier Division clashes that are shown on SuperSport at a later date, Crusaders host Durban Collegians in Durban North.

At Capel Road in Sydenham, the resurgent Jaguars are at home to Maritzburg Varsity in a Premier Division match that starts at 3.30 pm. Varsity will be looking to make amends for their poor showing against Zululand at King’s Park Stadium last time out.

It won’t be easy as Jaguars are having a good run at the moment.

An interesting tussle takes place at Hillcrest tomorrow, where the First Division South pacesetters welcome close rivals Drakensberg.

Today — First Division South: PMB Waratahs vs Kokstad (Woodburn Stadium 8.30pm); Durban University vs PMB Collegians (DU 8 pm). Reserves 7 pm.

Tomorrow — Premier Division: College Rovers vs Harlequins (4 pm); Old Boys vs Zululand (3.30pm); Crusaders vs DBN Collegians CR (3.30pm); Jaguars vs Maritzburg Varsity (3.30pm).
