Was ‘alien’ used to bait a hijack?

Grant and Caroline Brann have had feedback on what Grant may have seen on the morning on April 3 as described in last week’s Weekend Witness.

People have offered them the following possible explanations, said Caroline Brann in an e-mail to the Weekend Witness this week.

“A very nice, knowledgeable lady phoned me and said the drawing and description could have been what is termed by alien aficionados as a ‘grey’.

“Another suggested it could have been a prop used by criminals hoping to lure people into stopping on the highway in order to highjack them.

“It would have had to have been sufficiently bizarre and realistic enough for people to find a reason to stop on a highway,” said Brann.

Lastly, someone has suggested it could have been a muthi murder.

Brann said she felt the “failure of the Witness and myself to get any kind of a comment from the police on this matter does not constitute a denial that there was indeed something very disturbing lying on that stretch of road, around 7 am on April 3”.

This week, Weekend Witness confirmed with the Heidelberg, Vosloorus and Zonkizizwe police, who all cover the area, that no incident was reported on that stretch of road around that period at all.

None of the officers Weekend Witness spoke to could offer an explanation for the thing Grant Brann saw that morning.
