Waterfront: Development set for 2011

2009-09-25 00:00

THE Camps Drift Waterfront development is set to start in January 2011 once the zoning and environmental approvals are received by developers.

This was indicated in a report tabled at a recent economic development and growth committee meeting. Departmental comments stated that the developer has met the sale agreement conditions now that the municipality has approved the revised hydrological study.

“The real estates and valuations unit is now dealing with the transfer of the property, which involves the consolidation of 42 separate properties,” states the report.

The developer has launched an environmental impact assessment and the rezoning application will be submitted once the assessment is finished and forwarded for the approval of the Agriculture and Environmental Affairs Department.
