We don’t appoint city managers, says KZN ANC

CYRIL Xaba (right ) adviser to KwaZulu-Natal Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize (left) has been favoured by the ANC Youth League to take over as the new eThekwini city manager.

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday distanced itself from a statement made by the ANCYL in KZN about the appointment of the eThekwini municipal manager.

“We would like to place on record that we have nothing to do with the appointment of the city manager.

“The appointment of a municipal manager is the competency of the municipality,” said ANC provincial secretary Sihle Zikalala.

The ANCYL in the eThekwini region has reportedly called on the KZN ANC to appoint Xaba as city manager to replace current Mike Sutcliffe.
