OKAY, fess-up time. We want to hear all about your selfies and, better still, see your best shot of 2013. With no less than Oxford Dictionaries declaring selfie Word of The Year based on a “phenomenal upward trend in its usage”, we know there must be plenty of you out there doing the duckface (pouting) at your smartphones and posting to your followers. We want to see your selfies too, whether with a famous person, or in an interesting spot, or at a significant moment. Or just because you think you look amazing (because, let’s face it, that’s why this word is trending, right?). Tell us the details of what was happening at the time and why you think it’s worth sharing with our readers. We’re also interested in how often you post pictures of yourself and where. And for those of you who don’t have a selfie worth sharing, let us know if anyone else’s portrait has caught your eye, and send it to us. It could be by a famous person or someone you know — if you think it’s worth sharing, please mail it and tell us in a few words why you like it. Send your selfies to firstname.lastname@example.org before 5 pm, Monday, December 16, 2013. The best will be published in The Witness.
