2011-05-20 00:00

OUR South Coaster of the day, Novika Mesar, holds her family dearest to her and dreams of one day building a shelter to accommodate all the street children. TWANET KIRKBY caught up with her.

How long have you been here on the South Coast? I’ve been here for 28 years.

What do you do for a living? I’m a manageress.

What is it about what you do that keeps you doing it every day? My passion for technology.

What is the most important thing in your life? My family.

What is your biggest dream? Hopefully one day I would be able to build a shelter for our street children and be able to give them the opportunity to dream again.

If you could meet anybody famous who would it be and why this person? Dr. Martin Cooper who invented the first cellphone. I would just want to tell him that he is a genius for creating such a brilliant piece of technology which has now been improved on tremendously.

What is your favourite place here on the South Coast and why? Oribi Gorge. It is the perfect place to enjoy a family outing and enjoy nature’s beauty at its best.

If you get visitors and you have to take them somewhere here on the South Coast where would you take them? Lake Eland most definitely. It is beautiful and the wild outrides are perfect for visitors.

What do you do in your spare time? I love to surf the Internet for all sorts of things and there is always something new and interesting.

Your most precious possession? My son.
