‘Well dressed’ armed robbers steal money, computers from OK store

2012-07-16 00:00

A LOCAL grocery shop was robbed by four unknown gunmen, taking money and surveillance cameras yesterday morning.

Hayfields OK store in Foxon Road had its staff members held at gunpoint at about 7.20 am.

Store manager Zahira Cassim said four smartly dressed men entered the store pretending to be customers. They then pulled out guns and ordered staff to lie on the floor.

“They were looking like they were going to church, we suspected nothing. When they drew their firearms we panicked. They took our money, cigarettes, three computers, surveillance cameras and a computer server and left without harming anyone,” said Cassim.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident.
