WESTVILLE Boys’ High School travelled to Berea Rovers on Friday to meet Clifton College in the second round of the schools’ T20 competition. It was a road well travelled for the Westville lads who returned home with a strong seven-wicket win, against a Clifton side that counted on the talents of some shining stars in their side. Batting first after Westville sent them in, Clifton managed 98-5 in their 20 overs. Westville’s bowlers were a little erratic early on, bowling some loose deliveries. They soon found their line and length, pegging back Clifton’s batsmen. Tyrone Koen (2-14) and Tristan Vermaak (2-4) were the pick of the bowlers. In reply, Westville set about the chase with a structured approach, knocking off 100 runs in 12.5 overs, while losing three wickets along the way. Andrew Moon bashed 37 from 34 balls and Simon von Staden was undefeated on 35 from 27 balls.
