What’s hot on the box this week

2010-04-19 00:00

THE popular music show Afro Café returns to SABC2 at 10 pm on Tuesdays. The show is hosted by Stoan Seate, the front man of the successful group Bongo Maffin, who promises to bring a unique flavour to the proceedings.

Afro Café blends the best music Africa has to offer with a talk show, artist interviews and performances by up-and-coming musicians.

“The promotion and support of our home-brewed sounds and unearthing of new talent is a priority for the channel, and Afro Café sets the stage for that,” said Lebo Malete, SABC2 publicity officer.

Tuesday’s first episode will feature Yvonne Chaka Chaka with songs from her latest offering 18/28 and a visit to the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City to see a performance by Freshlyground.
