Win tickets to New Year music festival

2007-11-30 00:00

CELEBRATING 10 years of good music and great festivities, the annual Just Jesus Session (JJS) takes place once again over the New Year period, this time at a new venue near Camperdown.

“This is going to be the best value for money New Year’s party ever,” says JJS founder Grant Nelson.

“Just the coffee bar alone is worth coming for, never mind the 40 amazing bands, the raging bull ride, massive bonfires, big-screen graphics, fireworks, a huge talent show and the 1 000s of colourful faces from all over South Africa and the world.”

It’s a bumper year, and this year’s JJS Joy, held at Shekinah campsite, hosts a number of international imports, including Pete Nevland — a solo phenomenon from Austin, Texas — and Replenish from the UK.

South African names to look out for include Worm (ex-Finkelsteins bassist and vocalist), New Altum from Cape Town, The Arrows, Crossing Point and The Plain Truth (ex-One80 members).

Saying farewell this year is local Durban outfit MIC, a group which will use the JJS platform to say goodbye to their fans from the past 12 years. But as one group leaves another steps in and local Kloof/Hillcrest outfit Plainsite will be launching their new album on December 31 at 7.30 pm.

With the change of venue, accommodation in Camperdown now allows festival-goers the option of chalet accommodation (150 chalets available), as well as warm showers, a swimming pool and plenty of shade. Chalets are available at R50 per person per night. Inquiries:
