Windhoek: Namibia, Inland draw

2010-03-08 00:00

THE Provincial Three-Day Challenge cricket match between Namibia and KZN Inland at the Wanderers Ground in Windhoek ended with the outcome in the balance on Saturday.

In their second innings, Inland were on 102 for eight in pursuit of 26 runs for their first victory in this format of the game in the 2009/10 season. Namibia, of course, were no doubt convinced that they themselves had the match firmly in their grasp when proceedings came to a close.

After winning the toss, Inland had the perfect start when they shot Namibia out for just 112 and then went on to craft a painstaking 275 at less than three to the over for a commanding first-innings lead of 163. However, Namibia came back in their second dig to post a fighting 290, giving their attack a total of 127 to defend.

There was no information available on yesterday’s 40-over match, but a report on the outcome will be published in today’s Witness.
