Winter warmth: donate blankets for the needy

2008-07-10 00:00

Winter Warmth, East Coast Radio’s corporate social investment initiative to blanket the less fortunate in KwaZulu-Natal, is now in full swing.

Catch Damon Beard and the East Coast team on July 29 at the Liberty Midlands Mall in a live broadcast to collect blankets and cash.

"Winter Warmth would not reach as many people had it not been for our kind sponsors, facilitators and the generosity of our listeners and clients," said Finola Quarsingh, East Coast Radio public relations officer.

"Our facilitators Rotary, Durban Deliveries and Red Cross Air Mercy Services ensure that the donations get to the right people."

East Coast Radio and The Witness are appealing to corporates to make a donation to the Winter Warmth campaign.

Thanks to generous donations last year, East Coast Radio distributed 40 037 blankets, valued at R1 601 480, to needy beneficiaries in KZN.
