Witness Oktoberfest near Howick — be there or be ... thirsty

2010-10-01 00:00

NOW you can win double tickets to the first ever Oktoberfest to be held near Howick on Saturday October 9. We’re giving away ten double tickets to the music event of the year.

The “Fest” will be staged on the Pecanwood farm in Merrivale, and Oompa bands will team up with some of the province’s most popular bands. Tickets are just R69 a head, which includes entertainment, food and even camping facilities, to ensure that you don’t drink and drive. Tickets at the gate will sell for R100 a head.

Twenty-four-hour security will be provided to ensure the safety of patrons. The event will come to a close the following day at 10 am. Patrons will not be allowed to bring their own alcohol onto the premises.

The Witness and SAB will be there and there will be prizes galore to be won. One lucky patron will win a trip for two to the 2011 Oktoberfest in Germany, compliments of Student Flights and Contiki Tours, and it could be you.

The Red Light Stereo, Catlike Thieves, Suzanne Jade, and the Chris Wigans traditional Oompah band will be playing as well as a DJ Called Basstastic.

To win tickets SMS the keyword “Witness” followed by Octoberfest and your name to 34419. SMSes are charged at R2. Winners will be announced on Tuesday October 5. For more information about the Fest, contact 074 821 1144.
