‘Witness’ motor show: see the latest models at the mall

THE Liberty Midlands Mall Motor Show in partnership with The Witness and Weekend Witness is running into its second week, showcasing the best that Pietermaritzburg dealerships have to offer.

There are fantastic competitions and some hot new models and concepts on show.

Audi Pietermaritzburg will be in the Centre Court, displaying the World Sports Car of the Year 2010, the new Audi R8 V10.

The auto dealer is also proud to be hosting the Audi Quattro Cup, one of the world’s largest amateur golfing tournaments. To stand the chance of winning an invitation to the prestigious event, fill in an the entry form at the display. Audi will be drawing four lucky golfers to join it at Victoria Country Club on July 30 for the regional round. Any­one who buys an Audi before July 15 is guaranteed an invitation.

McCarthy Volvo will be showing the Volvo C30 as well as the Volvo XC60 in the Woolworths court.

SMG Pietermaritzburg will have the stunning new BMW 5 Series on display as well as a BMW race car.

Barloworld is showing the latest Fords and Mazdas — the Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ambiente, Mazda 1.3 and 1.6 Dynamic, plus the Ford Everest 4x4 auto 3.0 TDCI SUV.

The weekend will see a change-over with the Ford Focus 2.5 ST and Mazda 3 MPS 2.3 Turbo on promotion. Selected vehicles on display will be sold at a discount.

McCarthy Renault Pietermaritzburg will showcase its sportier, premium range of vehicles. This will include the Megane Coupé and the recently updated Koleos SUV, available in 4x2 and 4x4 versions. This vehicle was voted Best Compact SUV 2010 by Car Magazine SA.

It will also display its flagship model, the all-new Laguna Coupé 3.5 V6, for the first time in Pietermaritzburg.

McCarthy Value Centre/Call-a-car Direct will be having a special on 2009 Chev Sparks from R63 900.

A sales consultant will be on hand to assist custo­mers, appraise their vehicles and offer them quotations on pre-owned vehicles as well as brand-new Peugeot and Chery products.

The show ends on July 19.
