‘Witness’ staff help at Greenfield

2013-07-19 00:00

IN celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday, Witness staff did their bit for 67 minutes at Greenfield Place of Safety in Dalton.

Ten staff members representing the company gave blankets and goodie bags to 47 children who live at the centre. The children in turn presented a programme of song, poetry and dance dedicated to Tata Mandela. One of the popular songs was I’ve got a lover in Qunu, a song usually sung at traditional weddings.

The children enjoyed their meal and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with staff from The Witness.

Greenfield is a child and youth centre for children in need of care and safety, and caters for children aged three to 17.

It was started in 1987, and has three dormitories (for boys, girls and a nursery), an administration office and a hall, and can house up to 75 children.
