A 35-YEAR-OLD woman wanted in connection with an alleged robbery at a clinic in Pietermaritzburg has been arrested in the Mayville area in Durban.

According to police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane, she was arrested by the police Crime Intelligence Unit on Tuesday after a tip-off.

Zwane said on Monday, November 18, 2013 a woman entered the Maritzburg Family Clinic in Langalibalele Street in Pietermaritzburg under the pretences of being a patient.

A short while later, a man entered the clinic and produced a firearm, said Zwane.

Zwane said it is alleged that the woman gave a signal to three other men, who were waiting outside, to also come into the clinic where they held up staff members and robbed the safe of R1 000, took a computer tower from the clinic and a Nokia cellphone from one of the staff members.

He added that they believe the woman may be linked to other robberies in the city and surrounding areas. The other suspects are still at large.
