IN what is believed to be a domestic dispute, a woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend, who later tried to commit suicide in Pietermaritzburg’s northern suburbs.
Nokulunga Zuma (24) was found dead outside her house in Essenwood Drive in Panorama Gardens yesterday morning. Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Henry Budhram said Zuma’s body had multiple gunshot wounds.
“It was alleged that she had been shot by her boyfriend who had fled after he had shot her.” The police went to a house in Needle Park Drive in Panorama Gardens, where the boyfriend (30) was found with a gunshot wound to his head. He was found lying outside a house.
Budhram said a 9 mm pistol was found nearby and was taken for ballistic testing. The injured man was rushed to hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
The incident is being investigated, but Budhram said domestic issues are believed to be the possible motive for the killing.
