2010-09-16 00:00

A MAN who shot his girlfriend three times in Imbali on Tuesday night was found dead early yesterday morning.

He had a bullet wound in his forehead and his firearm was on his chest.

His girlfriend, Winnie Primrose Dlamini (29), is still in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Police spokesperson Warrant Joey Jeevan said Dlamini was walking with her 30-year-old boyfriend when they argued and he shot her three times before running away.

Police received the report of a body lying on the Imbali main road at about 4 am yesterday.

“The man was later identified as Sthembiso Lungile Phakathi. He is believed to be the boyfriend of Dlamini,” Jeevan said.

No foul play is suspected in his death.
