Woodlands old boys seek fellows for class reunion

2009-07-16 00:00

OLD boys from Woodlands Indian High School are celebrating their 50-year anniversary this year, but are missing four of their classmates and are appealing to anyone who might know their whereabouts to contact the organiser of the event.

Medan Singh, the organiser of the reunion, said the missing members are:

• Premchand Kanaye, who previously worked as an accountant and then relocated to Johannesburg,

• Balakrishnan Pillay, who lived at Sutherlands,

• Mohammed Mangera, who was previously employed as a teacher and also relocated to Johannesburg to work as a draughtsman, and

• Jack P. Govender.

Singh said although some members have died, he is certain that the four members are still alive somewhere in the country. “I am appealing to either the four men or their families to come forward and inform us of their whereabouts,” he said.

Singh said the reunion date cannot be set without the location of the other four members.

“Some of those people from our class that have passed on will be represented by their wives, but the problem with these guys is that we know they are alive, we just do not know where they are.”
