Zulu evening on the menu

2013-09-03 00:00

A MIXING of cultures will be on the menu at Crawford College La Lucia on Saturday, when they host a Zulu Cultural Evening. The event is to be held in the college hall from 4.30 pm for 5 pm.

There will be a collaboration of entertainment from pupils of the school and well-known performers. Pupils of Crawford College, led by their Zulu teacher Gugu Hattingh, have been hard at work preparing a number of creative pieces to be performed on the night. The audience will enjoy poetry, speeches, dancing and music, all dedicated to the Zulu language.

Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha, MEC of Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, has been invited as guest of honour.

Guests will also be able to tuck into a variety of traditional Zulu cuisine, and enjoy a fashion show that will feature designs by Wanteshe Boutique. A performance by the renowned PheZulu dancers promises to be a highlight of the evening.

Tickets are R70 from the school.
