Zuma: First lady gives birth

2010-08-17 00:00

ALTHOUGH it has not been officially announced by the family, Durban papers reported yesterday that first lady Nompumelelo “MaNtuli” Zuma gave birth to a son recently.

A friend said, on condition of anonymity, that the child, reportedly named Manqoba Kholwani Zuma, was born two weeks ago.

Repeated attempts to get official confirmation from the presidency and the Zuma family were unsuccessful last night.

Zuma is in Namibia for a regional summit, but apparently visited mother and child in between his official duties.

Presidential spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said last night that he would not comment on the president’s private life. — WR.
