tests: SARU offside, say WP

CAPE TOWN — Western Province rugby union president Tobie Titus feels they have been short-changed with the announcement of Test venues for the 2012 season.

Saru awarded Cape Town one Springbok Test for 2012 when they play Argentina on August 25. “I thought that they would definitely review it. I mean PE … I just want to have the reasoning behind the decisions,” Titus said. “PE got the All Black Test this year, and the Sevens tournament, and now an England Test. It is an unfair distribution.” WPRFU’s manner in dealing with Saracens’ request to play at Cape Town Stadium, favouring Newlands instead, may have hurt their case.
