Colin Moss is Surviving Evil

Surviving Evil, a new horror movie starring local star Colin Moss, will be released at Ster-Kinekor cinemas nationwide from this Friday, 10 July 2009.
The story opens with a TV crew arriving at the remote Mayaman Island in the Philippines to shoot a jungle survival special. Humour abounds on arrival, but very soon internal conflict amongst the crew members leads to a few horrific experiences. They also learn about the legend of the Aswang - horrifying, mythical creatures from Philippine folklore who live in the trees, can change their shape, hunt for human flesh and crave the blood of pregnant women. Only fire deters them and they won't venture below ground.
Surviving Evil is a locally produced horror feature starring Billy Zane (Titanic), Colin Moss (Number 10, Idols), Natalie Mendoza (Moulin Rouge), Christina Cole (Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day), Louise Barnes (of Egoli & Jozi H fame) and Joel Torre. The film marks writer/director Terence Daw’s directorial debut. The film was shot entirely on location in Durban and is a SA/British co-production.

"Surviving Evil is a very clever South African/British horror film that has the potential to engage all different sectors of our society. It is scary yet rooted in clean adventurous fun. The story is set against the backdrop of a deserted island in the Philippines and we were able to find perfect locations in KZN in which to shoot it. Our main aim with this film is to take the audience on a rollercoaster ride - filled with fun, excitement and suspenseful horror. We are proud that we were able to cast Billy Zane, star of one of the biggest films ever made, with our own stars Colin Moss and Louise Barnes, as well as the fine talents of Christina Cole, Natalie Mendoza and Joel Torre," says producer Anton Ernst.
Colin Moss feels that "this film was a huge opportunity to work with an international cast and director; I enjoyed it immensely and learnt a lot. Surviving Evil is creepy, scary and gruesome, and the perfect movie for a first date. Do not watch it alone!"
