PICS: Comic Con Africa kicks off with a bang!

Cape Town - Comic Con African 2018 kicked off with a shout-out from the cast of American Gods and a cosplay contest on Friday.

The three-day event opened its doors at the Kyalami International Convention Centre, welcoming hundreds of guests dressed as their favourite movie, TV and comic book characters on Friday.

We've even spotted our very-own Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Thor!

One of the most anticipated events include the screening of local thriller movie, Tokoloshe and the Dr. Who fan experience

Anthony Mackie is the third major act to withdraw from the festival, with Aquaman star Jason Momoa and Star Trek's Ricky Worthy previously cancelling their attendance as well.

But everyone's favourite R2-D2 is beeping all over the place!
