Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa spoke at the official Commemoration of the 38th Anniversary of June 16 1976 in Galeshewe in the Northern Cape. He commended a group of youth from the Northern Cape for their project- building 76 houses in a month to commemorate youth month and youth day. "A tribute to the Class of 1976, these 76 houses will benefit the most vulnerable in society - the elderly, people with disabilities, and women and child-headed households," he said.

He also addressed the importance of youth skills development in assisting young people in their plight to find work.

He said youth development should be central to strategy and planning across private and public sectors and that in the government's next five years will focus on doubling the efforts being made to find employment for youth.
