Celebrity actors Connie and Sello, who played siblings Archie and Karabo in Generations, reflect on the soapie's influence and popularity 20 years on.

WHATEVER mystical fountain of youth these two stars have discovered, please can they share it withrest of Mzansi? It’s been 20 years since they became household names on South Africa’s most viewed soapie and they don’t look a day older than when they first graced our screens as siblings Archie and Karabo Moroka. “Wow, 20 years, I feel ancient,” Connie Ferguson laughs when we chat to her and Sello Maake ka Ncube, her “brother” from Generations. Connie (43) looks radiant. She’s still sporting her shorter hairstyleand it highlights her flawless, natural beauty.

Her skin glows – there are no wrinkles in sight.

Sello is his usual dapper self, dressed in his trademark gentlemanly style with a full suit, cravat and waistcoat.

At 53, he’s aging ever so gracefully. Sello left the show back in 2001, and Connie in 2010, but despite the time lapse the pair made such an impression on their fans.
