Alicia Keys visits typhoon hit Philippines

Singer Alicia Keys to break on her tour to visit the Philippines


As a global ambassador for Keep A Child Alive - flew over to the Philippines to visit hundreds of Typhoon Haiyan evacuees.

She gave out colouring books and crayons before heading over to her concert at the MOA Arena in Manila.

She told the Philippine Star that her purpose was to lift whatever spirits she could while there. "Music has a way of lifting your spirit and that's what I hope to do for the Filipino people," she said.

She also encouraged fans around the world to donate to the typhoon victims.
