The family of the 14-year-old, Keamogetswe Sefularo, who was murdered on her way from school by an alleged Satanist have accused the police of denying them access to the hearing at the Randfontein Magistrate Court. The 15-year-old girl who is accused of the murder appeared in court yesterday.

Zali Nxaba, Keamogetswe’s brother told DRUM that his cousins were refused entry into the court hearing and no reasons were given for the refusal. “We know that the case is held in a closed session but we do not know why the family was denied access,” he says.

Zali adds that the investigating officer who they only know as Mpete had only visited the family once and has never shed information on the case. “We do not know what is happening. He (the officer) is not taking our calls and we only heard through the grapevine that the girl was appearing in court,” says Zali who adds that he has taken the matter up with the provincial police commissioner.

Keamogetswe was stabbed with a knife in a pathway leading to her home. It is alleged that those who murdered her sucked her blood after killing her. DRUM spoke to school girls in the area about rumoured Satanists cliques and rituals. The girls who asked to remain anonymous alleged that Keamogetswe was also a member of the Satanists group.

“They killed her because as a satanist she was supposed to kill her mother and she refused to do so," say the girls.

They also add that Lady Gaga is the queen of Satanists while Beyonce and Rihanna are slaves of the satanists. But Zali is questioning how his sister could have been involved.

“I bought her a phone and we checked her messages. None of them suggested her involvement in satanism,” he says.

The suspect is in custody and will appear again in court on 26 March.
