Appropriate age for extensions and relaxer for a kid

Here's a recommended age at which your child can experiment with her hair.

Birth to 5 years - Try to keep your child's hair in its natural state.

This age group is a bit too young for chemicals and heat.

As for extensions, it can be too heavy on the child's head causing tension and unnecessary breakage.

The Natural Black Hair Care website recommends that you at least wait until they’re about 12 – 15 years to start relaxing and doing all sort of things.

But you can do pretty much whatever is appropriate to them at the age of 16 and over.
