Things musos do to win a Metro FM Music award are proving to be as flamboyant as the ones politicians do to try win votes.

Arthur Mafokate is on a “vote for me and win a cow campaign” to try entice people to vote for him in the lucrative Metro FM Music awards.

The Kwaito pioneer is nominated in the Best Compilation Award category for Summa Ya Di Summa and the album is up against DJ Fresh’s Fresh House Flava Vol 8, DJ Kanunu’s Soul Meditation 2, and Various Artists’ It's Not A Party Without Us.

With the competition being that stiff, Mafokate brought in a cow to help lure votes in his favour.

The 999 founder is offering a cow as a prize if fans vote for his album to win the award. The ad has even made it into Daily Sun.

Arthur is not the only one pulling all stops to ensure a win - Durban-based Kwaito group Big Nuz has offered the ladies something special.

Female fans stand a chance to walk down the rep carpet with group and join them at the after-party.

It’s seems it's not just about good music anymore, but what you have to offer in exchange for votes.
