Ask sis Dolly: He always blames me

I recently found messages on his cellphone from different women.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for four years. When I asked him about it, he denied it and got upset, making me feel as if I was in the wrong. I wish he could be honest, admit he was wrong and apologise but he wont. He says I cause all the problems. Please help.

Sis Dolly answers:

This is a classic example of psychological abuse. The abuser consistently erodes your self-confidence and you start to believe you're the problem. There's nothing wrong with you, but if you stay in this relationship you'l lose your self-confidence. successful relationships are about accountability, responsibility and compromise. He's not taking responsibility for his behaviour-he is blaming you for the relationship's problems and is unwilling to compromise his position. Move on, he's not worth the pain.
