After falling ill due to stress, singer Winnie Khumalo is back in the studio and ready to give her fans a taste of what they’ve been missing.

This songbird’s health has suffered over the last few years, and her failing strength has not done her career any good either.

However, the previously bedridden Afro-pop sensation is recovering and we’re delighted to say she feels well enough to speak to us.

Winnie Khumalo (42) first became seriously ill in 2013, when she suffered

complications from ulcers, and spent a month in hospital. Since then her career has also wavered.

After releasing her last album, Higher and Higher, the singer dumped Oskido Mdlongwa’s record company Kalawa Jazmee in 2014.

It was reported at the time that she ditched Kalawa because she felt her music career was not being given the attention it deserved.

We meet her at the recording studio of her new producer DJ Christos in Midrand.
