The bail application of four KwaZulu-Natal school pupils accused of stabbing a fellow pupil to death was postponed in the Dannhauser Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

The case against Thabone Langa, 19, Bhekanani Mazibuko, 19, Siphamandla Mazibuko, 20, and Sibangiseni Ndaba, 19, was postponed to allow investigators time to verify the addresses of the four Isizimele High School pupils.

The four are accused of killing 18-year old Bongani Nkabinde on the morning of 28 October during a brawl.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Kara said that a fifth accused, who is a minor, did not appear in court, but appeared before the magistrate in chambers.

She said the 17-year old, who was being detained in a place of safety, would appear in court with the four when they applied for bail on 19 November.

It was believed two groups of pupils started fighting during the school assembly.

Two other pupils were injured in the fight.

Cellphone footage of the fatal fight went viral within two hours of being displayed on YouTube two days after the attack.
