Banana Boats

This is so easy and you can even ask your kids to help. It makes a great dessert for those unexpected guests.

Serves: 6

You will need


1 tin (115 g) granadilla pulp

60 ml (¼ cup) pineapple or orange juice

10 ml (2 tsp) honey or golden syrup to taste

Banana Boats

6 firm and ripe bananas

Juice of 1 lemon

2 peaches, peeled and cut into small pieces

80 ml (? cup) cherries or strawberries, chopped

Serve with

Ice-cream scoops

6 fresh cherries or strawberries (optional)


1. Syrup: Mix together the syrup ingredients in a small jug. Chill in the fridge until needed.

2. Banana Boats: Cut the bananas in half lengthwise and scoop some flesh out of the centre to make a slight hollow. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the bananas to prevent them from discolouring.

3. Put the bananas on individual serving plates and fill with the chopped peaches and cherries (or strawberries if using).

4. To serve: Drizzle with the chilled syrup. Serve with a scoop of ice-cream. Decorate with a cherry or strawberry. Serve immediately.
