Batswana prefer their own choreographers over Somizi

Not everybody is happy with the fact that Somgaga will allegedly be providing half-a-million pula choreography services in Botswana.

"I don't doubt Somizi's capabilities and talent, but when we're told this is time to celebrate us, as Batswana, then why hire a South African for the job? We can do it too," one of Botswana's top choreographers has been reported to have said.

The Idols SA judge is tipped to direct the country's golden jubilee celebrations scheduled to be held next month in Gaborone.

According to Sowetan, a committee, Botswana50 (Bot50) appointed to manage the budgeted 100million pula has been recently accused of corruption and favouritism in the award of tenders for similar events.

It is also reported that Somizi was not hired by Bot50, but by Red Pepper PR and Consultancy agency. Red Pepper was hired to procure the dance and theatre productions for the celebrations.
