Stuart Baxter has handed in his resignation to Kaizer Chiefs.

Stuart Baxter has officially submitted his resignation to Kaizer Chiefs after it was decided that he will not be leading them in the 2015/16 Absa Premiership season as the look to defend their league title, reports Soccer Laduma.

Turkish Super Light club, Genclerbirligi, according to The Siya crew were increasingly interested in securing the Englishman's services ahead of their next campaign, and that it was looking unlikely that he would be continuing at Naturena.

The club have identified Baxter, this is according to Turkey reports. Baxter was in Turkey this weekend, as the man that they want to take them into the 2015/16, and have forwarded a formal offer to him for him to consider.

It remains to be seen as to whether Baxter, who is expected back for Tuesday's press conference, will accept the offer from Genclerbirligi and make the move to Turkey, however it appears that he will not be staying with Chiefs after informing the club of his decision to move on.

Chiefs will hold a their conference this week to confirm a number of issues at the club, including player movements, and is unlikely that there will be any official confirmation of Baxter's situation until that point.
