IT WAS a goal that no South African will ever forget. It was the first match of the World Cup and Bafana Bafana was playing Mexico. With much doubt cast upon our national team, that first goal provided a glimmer of hope that unified the nation. And Siphiwe Tshabalala (29) was the player behind the monumental goal that shot him to stardom. Since then Siphiwe, affectionately known as “Shabba”, has built a name for himself as one of Mzansi’s best.
On the field his offensive ability, attacking flair and skilfulness in providing his team with goal-scoring opportunities have earned him a prominent position in the premier league team Kaizer Chiefs, while continuing his impressive work on the national team.
