Bobotie and goats cheese

Try your hand at this classic South African dish and serve up a savoury meal spiced to perfection with light, fluffy goat’s cheese.

Wine Tip: This meal pairs perfectly with Odd Bins Pinotage Bin 700

You'll need:

2 onions

1 kg mince

1 slice of bread

1 cup of milk

2 eggs

2 tbsp. curry

2 tsp. sugar

2 tsp. salt

½ tsp. turmeric

2 tbsp. vinegar

½ cup raisins

A couple of bay leaves

Goat’s cheese

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Pan-fry onions and mince adding in the

curry, sugar, salt, turmeric, vinegar and raisins. Soak bread in milk and break into pieces. Mix everything together, excluding 1 egg, the bay leaves and the goat's cheese. Add the mixture into an oven dish sprayed with Cook & Bake, and place the bay leaves on top of the mixture. Bake the mixture for 1 hr until done. Mix 1 egg and milk together and throw it over the mixture, add the goat’s cheese pieces on top and bake for another ½ hr.
