Her portrait hangs on the wall as a constant reminder that her memory lives on, but sadly now her name has been stained.

The sisters of kwaito star Brown Dash’s late wife, Nokulunga Masilela, look at her portrait and are barely able to hold back their tears.

They have gathered in their Daveyton family home to tell us that they’re deeply hurt by the things that Gladys Mpamile, mother of the late Brown Dash, said about their sister in a recent DRUM interview (He was my world, 12 July).

In it MaMpamile accused Nokulunga of turning her son’s life into a financial and emotional mess.

She also claimed Nokulunga was the one who infected her son, Siphiwe Mpamile aka Brown Dash, who passed away on 9 May, with HIV.

She also went on to say she hated her late daughter- in-law for costing her son his life. Nokuthula Masilela-Kanedi (34), Ntando Masilela (28), Sthembile Masilela (20) and their cousin Sindi Sindane (27), are sad and angry as they tell their side of the story about their loved one.

“We’re really disappointed about the accusations and insults levelled against our sister by Brown Dash’s mother,” says Nokulunga’s older sister Nokuthula.
